The Lane Cove rooms are at 2 Austin Street, directly opposite the Lane Cove Library and a few metres from Longueville Road. If you are coming from the village it is a walk of two or three minutes, and the parking behind the library is the easiest option in the middle of the day.
The entry is in the middle of the building, and the room opens onto a shared reception and waiting area, so clients are met rather than left standing in a corridor. It suits one-to-one consulting work: remedial and manual therapy, acupuncture, counselling, podiatry, and any practice that needs a quiet closed door and a table.
The room is let on its own terms rather than as part of a clinic. You keep your own books, your own fees and your own clinical records, and you are not asked to refer into anyone else's practice. Hourly and daily use suits a practice that is still building; a standing weekly session suits one that already has a following in the area and wants to be findable in the same place each week.
Lane Cove works well for this kind of practice. It is a village centre with its own catchment, minutes from St Leonards and Royal North Shore, and the people who come in are mostly local and return. Street parking is on Austin Street, Longueville Road and Burns Bay Road, and Lane Cove Interchange is a few minutes' walk for clients who come by bus.
